About the Collection

This collection from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries mostly includes maps of Ontario and parts of Eastern Canada. Several of the maps feature parts of Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia. There are also maps of North America and the World, as well as several prints and copper engravings.

The collection was donated by Daniel Livermore, a Brock University graduate with a BA in history and politics. He had an extensive career in Canada’s Public Service, serving as Canada’s ambassador to Guatemala and El Salvador and later becoming Canada’s Director General of Security and Intelligence. Currently he works at the University of Ottawa in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
